#Janathon Day 7 – How can you get faster, without running faster?

Day 7… Legs are still tired, but I told them to suck it up.  Last year, while training for the Marine Corps Marathon, I did almost no speed work.  I was so busy adding miles, that to do so seemed

#Janathon Day 2 – Quick and Easy Treadmill

Day 2 of Janathon!  I certainly wasn’t going to give up THIS early, so I jumped on the treadmill for a 3 mile run, not a hard pace, around a 9:15/mile.  Watched Haven – episode 1, that show has potential.

Running on!

I spent yesterday at my Daughter’s School for the WATCH D.O.G.S program, which put off when I could get this out!  After my run with the boy on Saturday, we did not give up on our running already! I am

I Just realized I have been neglecting my speedwork!

Last night was a procrastinating night.  I knew my rest-days were over, and I had a 3 mile run on the books.  That’s it, only a 3 miler.  Well I kept finding reasons to put it off.  I spent some

#Juneathon Day Something or Another – The Treadmill and Bowflex

So I had this thought.  Now it was partially born out of the fact that I didn’t have clean running shorts, and my manpri pajama pants were awful comfy, but it was still a thought. If impact levels make a

Starting the Cherry Blossom 10 miler Training Plan

I mentioned a few weeks back that I was fortunate enough to make it through the lottery for the Cherry Blossom 10 miler.  One of the really excellent things about this (in addition to getting to run it,) is the

#janathon – Day 7 – a SLOW REST day!

OK, So I admit it.  I overdid it this weekend.  Apparently following a fast (compared to my recent running) 6 mile run with a fast short run wears the legs out. If it wasn’t Janathon, I would take today completely

#janathon – Day 2 treadmill run

I certainly wasn’t going to mess up Janathon on day 2!  I had planned on heading outside when I got home, but it was cold and I didn’t want to go back outside.  I changed and headed down stairs to

Treadmill Speed Work (I’m too dumb for the Kinect.)

Every now and then, something happens that opens my eyes.  Yesterday’s recurring theme was speed-work.  Half-athoner mentioned it in a blog posting I read and responded too.  My friend Jeremy (he doesn’t have a blog) and I talked about it
